Made by Maresca was started in Gainesville, Florida in 2024 by Jenn Maresca and her wife, Emma, out of a desire to move toward self-employment and community enrichment after Jenn experienced years of burn-out in traditional roles. Wanting to find fulfillment in a more creative and intentional space, Made by Maresca was conceptualized as a custom sewing and embroidery company with a focus on accessibility, inclusivity, and collaboration. Over the last year, MbM has become a staple at many local Gainesville events such as Auk Markets, vendor fairs at 4th Ave Food Park, and the Grove Street Market. Over the last year, MbM has been lucky enough to work 1:1 with dozens of Gainesville residents, students, organizations, and small business owners to create high quality custom garments from company/club uniforms, bachelorette gifts, Christmas presents, and more.
