A lot of my childhood was eagerly going to the grocery store with my parents. I'd walk through the aisles carefully looking at which snacks or drinks I haven't tried yet. One of those visits, I saw a melon soda for the very first time... should I get it? I thought, “well I can drink it at the kitchen table and doodle at the same time.”

Those were my favorite parts of my childhood, reminiscing what joys I had in snacks while drawing. Now the snacks aren't as often, and life got pretty intense as an adult in the corporate world. Stressed. Mindlessly looking at grocery aisles, wanting to learn how to heal my inner child even for a brief moment. I recently lost my biggest supporter as well, and the kitchen table was actually the place that we bonded the most. He'd watch TV as I ate my snacks and made art. He always pushed me to create a business and I kept putting it off, so this is my tribute to him, my dad. My art is reminiscent of my childhood, AANHPI culture, original characters, and fan art of my favorite pastimes. I hope these memories in the form of my creations allow, not only myself, but others to heal along with me!
